Development Project Update
Most of us at the Academy know the 393 Club. It has
been the home of the last six SAMA tournaments and will have been where
a
large
proportion
of the academy's current members have taken there gradings in both Kung
Fu and Kickboxing. Presently it houses the Saturday morning Lau Gar Kung
Fu
classes and it has been the home of the Lau Gar Kickboxing classes since
2001.
The Building was severely run down and was slowly moving
into a state of disrepair. Fortunately in the summer of 2004 Adrain Abdulla
(senior instructor) and Mark Brine took over the running of the facility
and over the last eight months the building has seen a vast array of
improvements. These include:
-
A new floor in the downstair hall
-
Complete interior decoration
-
Refurbishment of the upstairs gym, including the reconstruction of
the boxing ring.
-
A full overhall of the toilet facilities
We are looking to safe guard the building and its facilities for many
future generations. The academy hope to be training here for many years
to come and if you think you may be able to help with it's restoration
you can use our contacts page.
Since the building has had recent facility upgrades the upstairs
gym is now avaliable for daytime hire. Members should contact Adrain for
more info and avaliability.
